Great for hair shedding pets

I bought the 362 Pet model because I have a Labrador who sheds, and house that is carpeted.

The 362 (now named Hal by me) works extremely well and I am delighted with it. I have some warnings though:

1. Start Hal on the weekend so you can see what he gets up to. Be prepared to spend time initially searching for Hal under the beds and furniture where he gets stuck. Clean out any stuff you have stored under the furniture and then block Hal's access with with cushions and pillows.

2. Intially, restrict Hal to a 12 x 12 space. For the first four cleanings he sucked up immense amounts of hair and dander which fills the collection box.

3. You have to invest time in cleaning Hal after two rooms have been cleaned and your hands will get dirty.

4. Small, light pieces of debris brought in from the garden on paws get blown out of the way by Hal and never get picked up. Pick them up by hand.

5. The cleaning tools supplied with Hal are useless. Hair gets wound around the rubber brush spindles and dirt builds up everywhere. Use a sharp knife point and a toothbrush.

6. My Lab ignores Hal and ambles away if Hal comes too close.

Great when it works but too many problems

I used my roomba for about 6 months successfully, it cleaned well and had relatively few issues. After 6 months it would work for 5 minutes and stop with the message 'clean the brushes', I did a complete cleaning and spent $54 on all new brushes and have not been able to get it to work again. Would I spend $350 for 6 months - NO. If it kept working I would have give it a '5' because when it is working it is really an asset but now I am just out $350.

It was the most affordable and lower end Roomba at the time.
I don't even know if he uses it anymore.

Great appliance

I just love my Robot. I am 76 yrs old and it hurts my back to use a regular vacuum cleaner. The robot just goes and does the business without my having to put stress on my back. It is a wonderful tool. It cleans so well that you would not believe what it picks up that the vacuum cleaner did not. My husband and I could not be more pleased. We named it "Robot lizzie".

This model of Roomba does an excellent job of cleaning the floors. However, it is not powerful enough for my house. Although I do not have a big house (1600 sq. ft.) the roomba runs out of power before completing the cleaning of my larger rooms. I have to divide these rooms into 2 seperate areas but then it takes hours for the battery to charge. Not very practical. I will be returning this model and exchanging for a more powerful model.
