Now my roomba can vacuum without me around whenever I schedule it. AND, it acts as a remote so now roomba can truly chase the cat, or any other desired target...

Has little practical use on Models 560 and above but it adds scheduling to the lower numbered models in the 500 series

We have 2 Roombas, a 560 and a 580. The basic difference between the 2 is the higher price for the 580, because the remote is included.

After the initial 10-15 minutes of trying it out, we stopped using it because:

- all the controls other than the 3 guiding arrow buttons are on the Roomba itself and, when you want it to clean something you go to the Roomba anyway
- the purpose of a robot is for it to do the work by itself, unsupervised

While the remote control does work, we wish we ordered a second 560 instead of a 580 and saved some money because we have no use for the remote.

Note: As a comment to this review suggests, the Command Center IS useful on 500 series models up to 560 which lack the ability to set schedules.

I'm not sure why this item is listed on Amazon with the "list price" at $79.99. Maybe it was that at one time? But the current list price for this on the IRobot site itself is $59.99

I purchased this and now have to return it to iRobot. They don't make it easy for you to return but I am going to send it back. It does not respond over 50 percent of the time. Very frustrating. Bad product.
