Reviewer: pool boy,
could not wait to get this. i live in a area with lots of iron in the water. this unit vacuums it all up. i now have a sparkling clean pool without sucking up all the dirt/iron through the filter which is the main cause of these intex filters to fail.
BEST vacuum ever! Better than the Aquabot Turbo!

Reviewer: CarlysMom,
We had an aquabot turbo (A LOT OF $$$) and it didnt get all the dirt up. We went and got this and were skeptical, but it works EXCELLENT! We had three weeks of dirt in our pool and it literally took ten minutes to vacuum it up! The best part is, theres no hooking up to the filter or backwashing the filter. I LOVE it!!!
Not impressed

Reviewer: renemonma,
We bought this to avoid using our pool filter to get rid of the dirt in our pool (we get more than normal dust that blows into our pool) and tried to use it 3 times and all three times you couldn't even tell that we used it. We dont have TONS of dirt in our pool but we do get a thin layer of dust that usually covers the bottom and when you would make a pass you couldnt even tell we went over it and all it did was kick up dirt into the pool. Definitely disappointed and actually returned it to the store. I might recommend this for a small spa but not even sure I would recommend it for that.
Works well for limited applications

This machine works well in limited applications. It is not a large debris cleaner. The basket is a small netted bag about 3" by 7". You would not use this for leaves, sticks, or larger debris. It does clean up loose debris in corners, stairs, here and there. The actual machine is like a large dust buster. It is easy to assemble and operate. The entire unit fills with water and you actual use a drain plug for the on and off switch. The battery comes with many warnings like don't charge for more than 12 hours or you'll damage it. Its not replaceable. You must charge for 10 hours about use, etc. Is it great -no. Will it eliminate or even reduce vacuuming -no. Will you use it - probably.
Glad I purchased this item

I bought this unit against the advice of a pool store employee, but I am sure he would rather sell me one of the more expensive robotic units.

After charging it for 12 hours over night, I took it out in the pool this morning and was pleasantly surprised as I emptied basket after basket of grass clippings. At times it clogged, but on anything less than a pile of grass at the bottom of the pool it worked very well.

Much better than busting out all the hoses, and backwashing the filter once you are done - and you can use the fine silt filter to remove and sediment.

The only thing I am going to different next time is buy the commercial grade version!
